Ok, so my question is, what is going on when you live in a society where our police are obsessed with giving out tickets to good drivers for no real good reason? These police are in the parking lots waiting to give tickets. Do we really need them there?
My son, who is a better driver than 99.9% of the 18 year old drivers out there, and yes, it is not just coming from his mom, his friends call him an old man for the way he drives. He is cautious, always watches his speed and is a responsible driver. But, the police think he needs a ticket and points on his license because he turned into a parking lot to cut through traffic. I honestly didn’t even know that was illegal. I have told my children that they should always turn in to a parking lot if they get a call or text that they want to look at. But now I see that they can get a ticket for that. My son needed to look at his phone gps because he was going to his friends house so he turned in, stopped and looked at his phone (didn’t park though) and then slowly proceeded through the lot.
Then got pulled over and given a ticket. Wow, Really?
I have been driving for 32 years and I have seen some seriously dangerous teenagers and people on the roads. Are the police that lazy that the way they choose to make money is by watching a parking lot to give out tickets?
And the police wonder why people don’t trust them. This is why! If you want trust from the people, then give warnings for stupid things like cut throughs, non-complete stops (which I got a warning for in a parking lot that was vacant and I stopped at the stop sign, just not complete enough for the police officer). Don’t you have better things to do to protect the people? Is pulling over people and giving tickets for really simple and stupid things what you are paid to do? Is that keeping order on the roads by giving tickets for these things?
I don’t think so. I think the police are looking to meet their quotas and need to give out enough tickets to pay their salaries. So give out the easy tickets to innocent good, even great, drivers.
All you are doing is making people hate the road police. When you drive great, watch out for others, keep your speed in line, and still get a ticket! That is wrong. We shouldn’t be severly punished with a ticket and points on our license for such minor things.
Just one more problem in our society. Would you police PLEASE go out and protect the people and stop giving out tickets for stupid things to those who are not harming or potentially harming anyone!
