Several days after the Presidential Debate, ABC News sat down with Biden in a one-on-one interview with George S. And is it just me, or is this even worse?
Denial, Ego and more Rambling Evasiveness
First Question, was about the “Bad Night” in the debate and asked “was this just an episode or a sign of a more serious condition?” Ok, now, I’m no expert, but wow-really? Of course he is going to respond and say he is ok and it was just a “cold”. In the question of why he blamed it on the travel schedule when he had 6 or so days to rest, he responded with the fact that he was sick. Even though the doctors couldn’t find anything wrong with him! It was just a bad cold.
Hello! If a man who needs to be there for our country can’t focus from a bad cold after resting for a week, we have a problem!
Then Biden was asked if he watched the interview. This took him a few seconds to think about then he said “I don’t think I did.”
Again, hello! What! I don’t THINK I did? Weird response. You either did or you didn’t. Not a tough question.
Then Biden explained in how he prepared and how it was his fault for not preparing correctly, then went straight to blaming the fact that Trump kept lying. Still his fault for not being ready for that. He had the pre-packaged responses ready to go and seemed to be trying to peice together the details in his answer while rambling no-nonscense facts! He rambled about how in preparing he saw the NY Times had him down so many points, then went into how Trump lied 28 times, you know, those facts they prepare him to have in his head. The problem is, he mixes it all up trying to showcase he can remember facts. But none of it was Fucking important to the question!
Stop! Just Stop Talking!
Then he talked about his “bad night” but how he did 20 events after it and was fine with “no slippy”. LOL. Perhaps that is a word his people use for when he has those “slippy” moments!
Then he talked about how he realized he was having a bad night when he realized that even though they turned off Trumps mic, Trump was still shouting, and he let that distract him!
Again, wow-really? Um, you are a man in charge of a country! And someone shouting next to you distracts you like that?
When George stated from reports “this seems to fit into a pattern of decline” and Biden’s smile, in my opinion, says it all. Here is a man with a huge ego who is being asked in front of the world about his mental decline. First, the question is a horrible thing to ask any person, let alone the President of the U.S. in front of the world. Of course he is going to laugh it off.
The end of the question asked if he was the same man as he was 3.5 years ago. His answer, again, staged, pre-fabricated, ready to showcase his wins as President. Again, not the question! We know you have done well Biden! We like you for your successes. But that is not the question! The question, that you clearly answer everytime you speak, is if you should continue.
Then he stated how he wanted to do 3 things when coming into the office:
- Restore decency to the office
- Restore support for the middle class
- Unite the country
Ok, pause for a minute. This answer was passed over, but I think it deserves another look.
- Restore decency to the office. Yes, it felt like you did. But now alot of us are feeling like you are exactly like the other guy. Like your ego is so big, that you care more about proving you can do it, than you do about the people and country you serve.
- Restoring the middle class? Well I haven’t seen a bit of this support yet. I’m sure they are working on it? But I haven’t seen it.
- Unite the country? We are more divided then ever. Everyone in their bubbles pushing back harder than ever.
And I have to insert this… while I am frustrated with the Biden and the democratic party, in a binary choice, Biden and the democrats win hands down. Maybe a 3rd choice (hint RFK, Jr) is something to consider!
Character of a President
Next he talked about how the most important thing was the character of the President. Well Biden, I have always looked at you as a man with character. Until now.
The fact that you care more about proving you are mentally capable, proving you can win, and proving you can beat a man you hate, shows plenty about your character. The fact that you point out that most people will say that you were a pretty good President to this doing, and you seem to want to be known as a great President, tells me more about your character. The fact that you seem to be so full of energy when it comes to competing against Donald Trump, more energy then you show in any other issue, tells me alot about your character.
Has anyone else noticed this? In the debate, he got most awake and energetic when debating over their golf games. He lights up and gets a competitive, sometimes angry look and energetic surge when someone mentions beating Trump. Is he in this to beat Trump? Would he be staying in if the Republicans had another candidate? I’m not so sure. I think his ego is about to be squashed, hard, because he can’t win this one against Trump.
Be Careful, Your Narcissism is Showing
So when later asked about how he would feel if he doesn’t step down and he loses, his response was again, very ego driven.
When asked if he felt more fragile then 4 years ago, he said “no”. When asked about his mental capacity and if he would take a test, he said he doesn’t need to. And he also said weirdly, “no one told me I had to”. Ok, just a weird response.
What I think we all wanted to see and hear, was a man admitting his humanity and miscomings. Admit that he is older, maybe not as sharp, and to do what is best for the country, he’d submit to a cognitive test. Instead, he acted just like the King of Narcissism, Trump. He said he didn’t need it. He also said that if he loses, he will know he did his best.
Wow, Really? Sounds a bit narcissistic to me.
Listen, I get it. In order to be the President of the U.S. or any country, you have to have some level of narcisism. You have to have a big ego. But you also have some mindfulness. I think Obama had this. And I think RFK, Jr. has this mindful, less emotional approach.
What we needed to hear
I think what we all want to hear and see from Biden at this point is a little humility in his humanity!
When a man who is old, who is more frail, obviously, answers a question about his frailty saying “no” I am not more frail, it is an ego talking and a lie. Fucking admit you are more frail! Be honest! Be the endearing old man we all like. Stop acting like Trump and denying truths about who you are!
If he had said, yes, I am older and I understand the concerns. And I am happy to get a test to prove to the country and myself that I am capable of running the country. I will do what is best because I understand the consequences of losing this election to Trump and I will support what is best.
I am the only one who can do this
When talking about the polls, apparently, Biden is being lied to by his people. He completely dismissed any polls or the option of dropping out or losing. He is lying to himself or he is being completely gaslighted to stay in by his inner circle. The truth is, he is acting like Trump and his inner circle is acting like Trump’s inner circle.
And when George presented Biden with the fact that people are saying exactly that, that his is acting like Trump, his response was to talk about how Trump is a liar. We know that. We are not saying you are acting like him in every way. Just that you are acting like an arrogant man who is the only one who can beat Trump. And when asked if he was presented with the facts that he couldn’t beat Trump, would he step down and his answer was, only if the Lord came down and told him, well, that again goes back to Trumpism. Biden saying that is saying that he is above all men and is chosen only by God. And that is just about the worst think he could say.
This thinking that any man is above all other men, is the problem with both candidates and both parties supporting them. Neither of them are the prophet of God. Neither are the only person who can lead this country. In fact, both are too old and too ego driven at this point to see past their own competitiveness to beat the other one!
We need a younger more sane leader!
Listen, I know Biden is good guy trying to do the right thing. I appreciate what he has done for the country up to this point. But it’s time to do the right thing in this moment and step down!
And by the way, did anyone else notice how he seemed to be breathing heavily, almost anxiously throughout the interview? If our President can’t be relaxed and confident enough in an interview, then what is he doing when he is meeting with other leaders? I would love to hear from a body language expert on this one!
Trump doesn’t need to even campaign at this point. He has already beat Biden.
