After seeing President Biden in the debate and even at his first rally after the debate, I am shocked at the state of our democracy. I see laws being passed and plans being made and our democracy slipping through our fingers as we sit by and just watch as these things are reported on the news. We vote, yes, we do. And we vote for the candidate and the party who is going to do what is best for the country.
But they are not doing their job!
After this past week, I no longer believe that President Biden or the Democratic party is doing what is best for the country. It is the Ginsberg affect. Remember when Ruth Bader Ginsberg wouldn’t step down from the Supreme Court a year or two before Obama’s Presidency was up and people were worried that she might give up her seat to whoever the next President puts in and that the potential for it to be Trump was real? And she stayed. Then died after Trump was elected giving up a huge amount of our democracy to right wing extremists. What kept her in? Was it her ego? Was it her thinking they needed her? Was her mental capacity weakened by her age that she couldn’t see what everyone was telling her that it would be best to step down now?
Biden is following in her footsteps and is about to give away the last shread of our democracy. I lost faith in the democratic party and in Biden and in you, First Lady, and in all those supporting Biden staying in, for not opening your eyes, for playing to his immediate ego, and for not telling him the truth.
Biden has a choice. Step down and let the democrats and those who don’t want to vote for Trump have something to be excited about. Or stay in and lose. And yes, he will lose. Not only the election. But he will lose respect, he will be blamed for the loss of our democracy, and his pride will be lost.
If you all care about this country more than stroking the ego of an old man, who has done great up until this point, then step down and let someone else have a chance to save us from an extremist group who is ready to help a wanna be dictator. If you care about this country, you will stop acting exactly like the egotistical Trump, and start acting like a man, family and political party who listens to the people and cares about the people.
I am fed up, angry and frustrated that the choice of President Biden staying in as the democratic choice is basically up to a handful of people, you. And all you are doing is stroking an ego. Biden has done great. He is a super awesome man. But if you care about this country, then realize that it is time to let someone else step in.
