I keep seeing on every news station and hearing on every podcast people who are supporting Joe Biden (by supporting him staying in the race). And I don’t get it!
We have all supported him. We all love him. And we all think he has done (past tense) a good job. But, that does not mean we think he will continue to do a good job.
I remember as a young child, my great-grandfather who lived with us who we would be told to go talk to every evening before bed. He was old and frail but had the spirit of an eagle! He would ramble on about stuff, most of which I didn’t care about or didn’t really understand. But out of respect, I spent 30 minutes or so with him every night before bed.
Now this was a super smart guy. But just because he was smart didn’t mean he was capable of being the man of the house. No, that was my father. My father respected his grandfather and always listened to his wisdom, but ultimately, my father made the rules. He took into account the wisdom, but also understood the new world and new dynamics in raising kids. So of course, it makes sense for grandparents and great-grandparents to step back and let the next generation take charge.
That is what I think of President Biden. He is a super intelligent, super nice old man. But he shouldn’t be the leader of the house. He should be stepping back and letting the next generation take the reigns.
For those supporting him, wouldn’t it be better to support him to retire? Do you want him to be remembered as the nice guy who did good things to help our country, or the egotistical man who didn’t believe anyone else could do it as good as him to his own detriment? Do you want him to be the reason we lose our democracy? What will his legacy be? If you want to support the man you know and love, then support him to step down and retire. It’s time!
