Ok, so I am not an expert in politics, but I do watch the debates and the news so that I can stay well informed. I am really confused by the new proclamations by the republicans who say that no matter who President Obama chooses as a replacement for the Supreme Court, they will do everything they can to block it. The people of this country voted for President Obama as our President for 4 years. The members of the Senate saying they will not even consider any appointment by President Obama because they disagree with some of his policies is a blatant Obstruction of Justice.

It is childish and unconstitutional. The people of this Country voted in President Obama and if the Republicans in the Senate believe Obama is no longer qualified for office, then they should follow the procedures and prove that he needs to be removed. Otherwise, they need to shut up and abide by the laws that this country is founded on. Now I could understand if Obama picked someone and they then rejected his appointment, but to say outright that it doesn’t matter who he chooses because they plan to block it because they do not approve of Obama, is completely ridiculous and I cannot honsestly believe that this type of behavior is permitted in our Country. We depend on the Supreme Court to make decisions. The Republicans are now stating that they do not care that 1/3 of our government, the justice system, will be placed on hold for a whole year just so they can stomp their feet and try to get their way.

And what I really want to know is why the news stories are promoting these Republicans who are outspokenly obstructing justice, rather than the democrats who are pointing out why it is wrong to do so. Seriously, GMA had a whole segment to promoting an interview with one of those obstructors who blatently said he opposes Obama and will not support anything he does, while only showing a small clip of Sanders and Clinton saying it is wrong.

It is not up to the members of Congress and Senate to like the President or approve of everything that he implements. But it is up to them to look past that, grow up and not act like a spoiled child, and make informed decisions. Saying you will not even consider a placement because you do not approve of the current President is like a spoiled child defying the rules and stomping their feet to get their way. It should not be allowed for them to behave that way. Republican Senate, grow up and think of the people of this country who need a Supreme Court Justice system that is functional this year and let the President do the job the people of this country elected him to do!
